eCommunity Supported Agriculture (CSA)

The following farms offer CSA programs, through which consumers buy a "share" in a farm before the season begins, then receive weekly boxes of farm-fresh food throughout the season. Remember, CSAs usually begin recruiting members in the winter/early spring, so sign up early!

Dancing Hen Farm is a small, family-run operation featuring organically grown vegetables and farm fresh eggs from pastured layers. The farm is currently transitioning to organic certification. CSA members have the option to purchase full or half shares, and an optional egg share delivered weekly during the growing season. A wide variety of garden vegetables, including many heirloom and specialty varieties, are included in each share. Pickup location in Center City Philadelphia.

Lancaster Farm Fresh Cooperative (LFFC)
is a nonprofit organic farmers’ cooperative, owned by 50 member farmers in Lancaster County. CSA members receive 25 weeks of freshly harvest, certified organic produce beginning in May. Grass-fed animal products, PA-made products and bulk foods are available through Four Season Harvest, a year-round buying club. Optional fruit shares and flower shares are available for CSA members.

Pennypack Farm Education Center is a charitable, nonprofit educational organization dedicated to increasing public understanding of the health, economic, ecological and social issues involved in sustainable local food systems. Pheasant Hill Farm is a second-generation, chemical-free farm of 20 acres in Vera Cruz, Pennsylvania. The Chef/Farmer’s Market Basket CSA is a collaboration between farmers and chefs to meaningfully link farm to table. CSA members receive each week’s basket filled with chemicalfree, gourmet heirloom produce and freerange, heritage-breed meats in quantities providing food for 2 or 4. Varietal histories, production notes, menus, and kitchen instructions are also included.

Red Hill Farm is a local community sponsored organic farm on 183 acres of woodlands and meadows owned by the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia in Aston, PA. CSA membership provides the opportunity to create a community of people connected with each other and to the Earth.
